Schools’ Programme Manager

Duration: 12-month fixed term, part time, 16 hours per week 

Salary: £30,000 per annum (pro rata)

Location: Remote with option of one day per week at co-working space.

Beyond is a UK-based charity founded in 2018 with a mission to address the growing mental health crisis affecting young people. We strive to increase access to support and create opportunities for early and personalised interventions. Our expert leadership team, guided by lived experiences of mental health treatment, is passionate about transforming society’s approach to youth mental health. Through our ecosystem of resources, including a cross-sector directory of mental health services, financial assistance, and annual festivals, we aim to empower young people and those working with them to improve mental health support.

What we are looking for:

We are looking to recruit a Schools’ Programme Manager. You will be responsible for the successful management and coordination of the Now and Beyond Schools Programme which provides financial support to enable access for young people to urgent mental health interventions.

This is a 12-month fixed-term position. You will work part-time, 16 hours per week, with flexibility in terms of location. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will play a key role in collaborating with various teams and stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of the programme.

We are dedicated to offering the role to someone who is able to communicate our charity’s purpose and values effectively including but not limited to; eradicating racism that is so often a contributor of poor mental health, campaigning for LGBTQ+ rights and raising the voices of the voiceless and marginalised.

Candidate requirements:

  • Previous experience in programme management or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Understanding of mental health interventions and the needs of educational settings in supporting vulnerable students.
  • Knowledge of budget planning and cost management.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Passion for improving mental health provisions and making a positive impact on the lives of young people.

Responsibilities:

  • Programme Management: Oversee the implementation and management of the Now and Beyond Schools Programme, which involves providing mental health interventions to educational settings. Coordinate activities, resources, and timelines to ensure the effective delivery of support to vulnerable students.
  • Application Process: Support the Head of Operations in managing the application process for the programme. Review and assess applications from educational settings seeking mental health interventions. Shortlist applicants and conduct interviews to identify the most suitable candidates.
  • Onboarding and Evaluation: Facilitate the onboarding process of selected providers onto the Now and Beyond Directory. Manage the impact and evaluation process of interventions, collecting feedback from schools and students. Monitor the effectiveness of interventions before, during, and after the support period.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Assist the Head of Operations in preparing costs for interventions, contributing to budget planning and management. Ensure efficient allocation of resources to maximize the impact of the programme.
