This role is open to CAMHS and youth psychiatrists, psychologists and senior clinicians. It is particularly suitable for those clinicians with an interest in prevention and helping to bridge the gap between secondary mental health care and the voluntary sector. It is an opportunity to bring your clinical skills, leadership and expertise to a dynamic and effective team making a real difference to young people’s mental health.

This Trustee will serve as a trusted voice to Beyond to help them achieve lasting improved access to mental health support for young people.

  • Review all of our psycho-educational materials once a year ahead of our annual schools festival, Now and Beyond.
  • Provide expert advice to the board and CEO on clinical matters and best practices in youth mental health where needed.

Strategy and development:

  • Bring firsthand understanding of healthcare disparities and challenges faced by marginalised young people that will help the charity’s strategic goal to achieve equitable access to support.
  • Identify emerging trends, research, and best practices in youth mental health care and advise on how these can be incorporated into Beyond’s work.

Safeguarding and risk management:

  • Agree to be our Deputy Safeguarding Lead (our CEO is DSL)
  • Advise on safeguarding policies and practices, tailoring approaches to address specific vulnerabilities and barriers to protection where appropriate.
  • Work closely with our DSL and senior leadership team on matters of safeguarding where needed.

  • Strong connections to, and understanding of, the marginalized community you represent.
  • In-depth knowledge of mental health challenges facing young people, clinical best practices, and emerging trends in the sector.
  • A passion for Beyond’s mission and dedication to improving youth mental health outcomes.

Time commitment

  • Attend approx 4 annual meetings with our Board Of Trustees and senior leadership.
  • Attend quarterly (remote) meetings with the wider Beyond family (including volunteers.)

Tenure
