Trustee: Trustee (Network and Fundraising)
Salary: This is an unpaid voluntary role. Expenses are covered where relevant

Trustee role
As a Trustee focussed on raising the profile of the charity and establishing meaningful relationships with potential funders, you will play a pivotal role in extending the reach of our charity by leveraging your personal and professional networks. You will bring unique perspectives rooted in lived experience as a member of an underrepresented or disadvantaged group, helping to ensure the charity is well-positioned to achieve its goals and sustain long-term impact within the communities it aims to support.

- An established personal and/or professional giving network that you are willing to leverage to support the charity’s income generation strategy
- Significant experience and strong working knowledge of the charity sector
- Integrity, authenticity and accountability
- Commitment to the charity’s mission and values.
Time commitment
- Attend approx 4 annual meetings with our Board Of Trustees and senior leadership.
- Attend quarterly (remote) meetings with the wider Beyond family (including volunteers.)
Tenure
- All Trustee positions are to be held for a minimum of one year.
Key responsibilities
Inclusive Fundraising Strategy Development:
- Advocate for fundraising approaches that are culturally sensitive, accessible, and inclusive, ensuring the charity’s messaging resonates with diverse audiences.
- Help identify untapped donor bases and communities that align with the charity’s mission.
Network Engagement:
- Leverage personal and professional networks to build connections with underrepresented groups, organisations, and individuals who could support the charity.
- Facilitate introductions to diverse corporate partners, private funders, and/or stakeholders who may align with the charity’s mission.
- Help nurture and maintain relationships with existing donors and supporters.
Advocacy and Promotion:
- Act as a voice for marginalised communities, ensuring their needs, challenges, and aspirations are reflected in the charity’s fundraising strategies.
- Promote the charity within communities they represent, building trust and engagement.
Governance and Compliance:
- Contribute to board discussions with a focus on ensuring that the charity’s work aligns with its commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Monitor and evaluate fundraising activities to ensure they remain fair, ethical, and impactful for all communities.
Performance Monitoring:
- Assist in setting and evaluating fundraising targets and KPIs.
- Provide regular updates to the board on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
